My Communique to Parents - 2014-15

Paramount Academy, Kasrawad
Principal’s Communiqué – 2014-15

Dear Parents,

Greetings from Paramount Academy.

I am very happy to meet you once again through this communiqué. It’s already year and a half since I joined the school. Let me share the things we have done in the past year and my plans for the future. First of all I must thank you the parents for your constant support and trust in me. If you can go through my previous communiqué, we have mentioned/promised a few things for the year 2013-14 in that. I feel very happy to share that we have accomplished whatever was mentioned in that.

Education is the field for innovation and creativity. At school, it’s been our collective effort to think and undertake activities that are best suited for the students and enhance their understanding of the subjects they study. We would like to see the students not only understand the subjects but also apply the same practically in day to day life situations and living a healthy, happy, responsible and meaningful life.

Over the past, we have been laying emphasis on Spoken English at the school for which we have provided lot of opportunities to the students to learn and speak English. The results are quite encouraging. Many students are now able to speak fluently and without fear. I would like the parents to note and appreciate that this activity is being done in the school without any outside agency’s help. The students are self motivated and are voluntarily speaking. This I feel is very significant and worth appreciating.

From the mid-session, we introduced oral assessments for classes I to VIII with which we wanted to ensure that the students are not just mugging up the answers but have a clear understanding of all the concepts of the chapter/unit. All the subjects will have one oral assessment each in a week. The marks of the oral assessments are reflected in the final result. This is also showing good result as the children are now reading (thereby understanding) the lessons instead of just writing/copying the answers in the notebooks. This year the oral assessment is extended up to class X.

Classes VIII onwards, students are given regular and challenging home assignment everyday in printed form. I am personally calling the students at random and asking questions to ensure whether the students have completed the work on their own or just copied from their friends.

In order to have more activity based teaching at the pre-primary level we have removed all the existing black boards and complete focus now is on oral and activity based teaching methods along with the help of audio, visual aids.

Lot of emphasis is laid on the teaching at the senior school level. Quality assignments, group study plans, practicing number of sample papers, extra classes depending on the ability of students are but a few examples.

Other than academics, our students have been doing very well in activities like karate, tennis volleyball, yoga besides winning in inter school (Sahodaya) activities. Our students secured first positions in Junior Science project and Commerce quiz in Nimar Sahodaya Competitions.

However, I strongly feel that there is a lot to be done and we are ready to do many interesting things in the future for bringing up the standard of the students and the school. To start with this year, we have already recruited a number of new teachers who have good exposure to English language. This will definitely help us further in creating the ‘English atmosphere’ in the school.

We have two focus points this year: ‘Child first’ and ‘Journey is the reward’.

Please feel free to meet me or mail me at paramountkasrawad@gmail.com or find us on facebook.

Looking forward to your wholehearted cooperation.

Sincerely Yours,

D. Karunakar
(Principal)
