My Communique to parents - 2013-14

Principal’s Communiqué!

Dear Parents,

Greetings from Paramount Academy.

It gives me immense pleasure to meet you through this communiqué and share with you my experience of these five months since I joined the school and also acquaint you with the developments that took place so far and will take in near future. Unfortunately, many of the parents and even many people connected with education still believe and expect that a lot of written homework to be given to the student daily and the children should learn the concepts by rote. But, with this practice the children will appear to be busy but they will not learn anything at the end of the work. They will not understand and apply the knowledge to practical situations which is the main aim of education.

At the school, we are working on making the child understand the concepts better and make him happy and excited to come to the school. Another priority this year will be Spoken English. I would like to be in contact with you on a regular basis, so, your suggestions, complaints and any other feedback are welcome.

The following are a few important things we have worked on already and other few that will be materialized in near future:

• We are preparing to give you the ‘Objectives of Learning’ for each class (Nursery – III). So that it will be clear to you as to what the child is going to learn and be able to do after each of these classes.

• Chapter-wise tests are taken with the help of Worksheets. Questions will not be same as given in the text book. They are changed and twisted a little bit. This is done in order to see that the child reads, thinks, understands and answers the question.

• Questions will not be exact replica of textbook questions in any Formative or Summative Examination. But they will be from the same chapters/units.

• There will be good weightage for objective type questions, oral tests besides long answer questions. So, the child has to study the entire book in order to perform better. For more details, please contact the examination department.

• ‘Syllabus Plan’ for each class is prepared and distributed to students. Now that, you can also monitor whether the syllabus is completed on time or not.

• A colourful and attractive ‘Year Planner’ with all the details is already provided to the children. All the activities will be held as per the plan. School Diary is also coming out with a new look. • Spoken English classes are held with the help of audio visual equipment.

• Inter House activities are going on as per plan and children are participating enthusiastically.

• School website will be updated soon. You can have up to date information on the site including the ongoing activities, syllabus plan, holiday homework, important circulars, photographs of various events, etc.
